Whether you call it a roll, turtle, polo or skivvy (skivvy? I’d never heard of it either. It’s an Australian thing apparently), this is one knit that you should definitely be investing in this season. I spend most of the long British winter trying to stay as warm and comfortable as possible which generally results in all thoughts of style and fashion flying straight out the window. However this season, throwing on a huge knit, in particular a polo neck, is totally legit.
A bit of street stalking gives us plenty of tips on how to wear this key piece. Go big on top and tight on the bottom if you are leaving the house and want to avoid looking like Jabba the hutt and even layer up a tighter fit of polo neck under a shirt for a more glam look that will still keep you toasty warm. Oh and top tip to look like a true fashion darrrllling- make sure your hair is tucked in to the roll neck. Although a word of warning: this will result in being itchy and hot. As is always the case, no pain no gain.
