IN THE PINK

Quite awkward if you didn’t get the memo about the pink coat rule at NYFW. Luckily (sigh of relief), it seems that most attendees did as they have popped up EVERYWHERE. The shape, length, cut, style, fabric… not important. It is simply a colour thing and the more candy floss the better- think fluffy, boxy and sugary. Yum.

HAND-ME-DOWN CHIC

I spent most of my early adolescence trying to avoid the exact same jeans that I am about to rush out and buy – oh the irony. There has been a subtle shift in the jeans trend and we are seeing plenty of examples during NYFW. I call them hand-me-down jeans. Why? Well because they look identical to the pair I inherited from a (male) cousin and forced to wear as a lanky 12 yr old. Mine were way too short, patched at the knees with Scout achievement badges sewn on the pockets and somewhat unflattering. If only I still had them today… *wistful sigh*

Coat of arms, or not.

Where does the fashion blogger keep her armies? Definitely not up her sleevies, that’s for sure. There is only one way to wear your coat when turning up to a show during fashion week – over your shoulders with your arms absolutely nowhere near your sleeves because after all, who would want to see hands? So last season. Even the New York snow can’t persuade these most stylish of beings to actually wrap up against the elements. But hey, who are we to comment? They look awesome. So repeat after me, style over comfort, style over comfort…
